I had no idea where make a thread like this, so I hope this is good.

The reason I'm not so active these days is because I have internet problems, I'm on friend's PC currently. Yep, that's right, no phone, no internet.

I'm in hell.

I really don't know when the damn slugs are gonna fix it, from the look of things, it's gonna take a while D:

On the positive side, I watched some movies which I had on my "lazy list" and read lots of Dylan Dog (finally read around 260 regular numbers I currently have )

Was up all night to get stoned.
Was how thread idea formed.
We post to in here to get some

Lucky Daft Punk thread.
I've only heard the single and I want the album. I've had a few copies of Discovery and I think Human After All wasn't bad.

But with this album being hyped 10/10 in the NME, I reckon there might be some grain of truth.

I don't think it's stupid making the thread before I've heard it.
Although excellent pressure!
If get lucky today I might buy the album and have it in my hands by midnight.

Quote:What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” So said the Preacher of Ecclesiastes. And he said it two and a half thousand years ago, which puts people moaning about things sounding like the ’80s into perspective.

It’s rare to hear a record that doesn’t sound like anything you’ve ever heard, and rarer still to hear one that also puts a smile on your face. How many great bands turn their backs on putting out the same old shit only to release records so calculatingly ‘out there’ they feel like maths homework? They forget this is supposed to be FUN. Yeah, Radiohead, I’m talking to you.

Daft Punk have enjoyed near-universal acclaim over 20 years and three albums but ‘Random Access Memories’ is their greatest achievement: an ambitious masterpiece you can’t imagine being made by anyone other than Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

Opener ‘Give Life Back To Music’ sets the tone with guitars that wouldn’t have sounded out of place on Giorgio Moroder’s Top Gun score. It features Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Paul Jackson Jr, who played on ‘Thriller’, so it’s as funky as you’d expect. The sound of a happy crowd gurgles in the background. The party’s right here.

‘The Game Of Love’ slips into a slower tempo, as a melancholy android discovers heartbreak. The record is loosely themed around a robot’s attempt to become human, and if he needs a guide who better than the producer who gave us Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’? ‘Giorgio By Moroder’ is a documentary of sorts, in which the titular hero narrates his life story. When he describes the beginnings of the disco beat, we hear an insistent click track. When he tells us that when we create art there are no rules, the music proves him right. It’s a life-affirming salute to the power of the imagination.

After this, there’s a sea change. Chilly Gonzales plays a 45-second piano solo that takes us into ‘Within’, marking the transition from the first three tracks. This is a record that’s been painstakingly slaved over. The track itself is restrained, as our robot protagonist begins to realise just how much he’s yet to understand.

He’ll be hard-pressed to catch all of Julian Casablancas’ quickfire lyrics on ‘Instant Crush’, an instant nightclub anthem. ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’ is paired with ‘Get Lucky’, representing the album’s poppiest moments and featuring the dream team of Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams. Sitting between the two is the record’s startling centrepiece, ‘Touch’. Paul Williams might be best known as a composer for the Muppets, but Daft Punk love him best as Swan, the villainous antihero of operatic horror film Phantom Of The Paradise. His background in psychedelic storytelling is put to use on an eight-minute epic that changes shape every time you draw breath.

‘Beyond’ is another melancholy-hearted collaboration with Paul Williams. ‘Motherboard’ is a long, spacey instrumental that sounds as if it’s somehow melting. ‘Fragments Of Time’ is a further glorious high in which Todd Edwards describes his time in LA and makes you feel like you’re driving a fast car down the west coast of the USA. ‘Doin’ It Right’ features Panda Bear of Animal Collective and is the album’s most forward-looking moment; closing track ‘Contact’ is a DJ Falcon collaboration, and an example of pure musical adrenalin.

By assembling a cast of their favourite musicians and delving into their adolescent memories, Daft Punk have created something as emotionally honest as any singer-songwriter confessional – and a lot more fun to dance to. Go out and rejoice: there’s something new under the sun.
Note in development, we all kept noting how an 18 story building is WAY too big for Silent Hill.

Well, it's not actually that tall. It only has three floors. We visit all three of the actual floors. The illusion of the 18th floor is just DJ Ricks' personal world. It is most likely manifested from his old radio station and he puts it there because it makes him feel safe, like a cat climbing a tree.
Check the outside of the building. It's only about three stories high. There's no clock, no skyscraper, and not 18 floors.

So as alot of you know, a new outbreak/hd version has been one of the biggest RE Fan requested projects.
Well, outbreak turns 10 years old Dec 11th 2013.

Many have asked for a PS3/360 port, and never got it.
Capcom just dont want to for some reason, and it also comes down to "The code for the online play is lost" which is a lie. Capcom could strip out the online component and remake it.

Or, they could simply remake the entire game. A release on current gen consoles with all levels on 1 disk would be the perfect thing. RE4,RECV,RE Chronicles and revelations all got HD ports. Why has outbreak been left out of the picture for so long?

Would you want a remake, port or sequel?

Here's a personal piece I painted recently that is inspired by Silent Hill 2. I thought it might be a good idea to post it here. If you want to see a higher quality image of the piece and/or if you're interested in reading up on it and seeing step-by-step images, check out my blog post where I talk about it in detail: http://artburns.blogspot.com/2013/05/sil...-life.html I'm also happy to answer any questions anyone might have about it.
What happens when you mix a child's perspective and imagination, with the surreal nature of dreams? Quite a lot,
The game is heavily based on atmosphere and exploration, and using the two year old child’s perspective. For example you’ll be able to see your own body at all times, and you will have to interact with the environment to find places to hide from dangers. There might be threats hiding in every shadow, but there’s no traditional combat.
Isn't the easiest thing to do open-world survival horror. You must agree with me. It's relies on timing, and open-world games put so much control in gamer's hands that the scares are almost always the first thing to go.

Now imagine Don't Starve, The Lost and The Descent in one survival simulation fps game, game that places you in a forest, alone, unarmed, and with a population of freaky pale mutant-cannibals that would like to eat you alive. You'll learn how to start a fire, construct a shelter, and scavenge for food in order to survive. And you’ll have to either hide from or defend against bloodthirsty creatures...

One more very interesting thing: The Forrest will have Oculus Rift support. That's really something for this kind of game, isn't? Feel and taste the fear like never before...

The Forrest is on Steam Greenlight.
From SKS Games description:

The world
Enter a living, breathing forest with changing weather patterns, plants that grow and die. Tides that roll in and out with the day/night cycle. Below ground explore a vast network of caves and underground lakes.

Complete player freedom
Chop down trees to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm. Scavenge food to keep yourself from starving. Find and plant seeds to grow food.

Build a small shelter or a large ocean side fortress. decorate your home with found items. Lay traps and defenses to keep a safe perimeter.

Gameplay
Explore and build during the day. Defend your base at night. Craft weapons and tools.Bunker down during the evening or bring the fight directly to the enemy.

Fight or Hide
Use stealth to evade enemies, or engage them directly with crude weapons built from sticks and stones.

A new type of open world, survival horror experience
Defend yourself against a clan of genetic mutant enemies that have beliefs, families, morals and that appear almost human.

feel a strong sense of deja vu right now. Why? Because I’m about to revisit a contest I made several years ago for the original Deadly Premonition. If you’ve been following my work then you might know what this is. That’s right, “The Sinner’s Sandwich Challenge” is back!

In Deadly Premonition, Agent Francis York Morgan tries the ‘Sinners Sandwich’ which is comprised of Turkey, Strawberry Jam and cereal. Such an odd combination, but York was very pleased with the taste.

“The Sinners Sandwich Challenge” is fairly simple. Create your very own Sinner’s Sandwich recipe and take at least one bite in a video so we can verify. For obvious reasons, non-edible, and toxic items should not be put into the sandwich, as you are expected to take a bite. I don’t want you guys to choke or be poisoned; so be smart but creative as to what you put into your own “Sinner’s Sandwich”.

The more food stuffs, the worse the combination of said foodstuff and the more bites you take all add to your chance of winning a digital copy of Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut! There is only room for one winner, but runner up’s will get an honorable mention.

Rules:

Make your very own “Sinner’s Sandwich” and take a bite on film. The more you eat, the better your chances.
Film your sandwich being created and eaten.
Upload your video to Youtube and the email me the link (cj[@]relyonhorror.com] with the subject header “Sandwich Contest for DPDC”. Your video will be added to this post. Leave it in the comments as well!
Do not kill yourself with poisonous items. You definitely won’t win that way.
The winner will receive a North American PSN code for a digital copy of Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut. Entries from other regions are welcome, but I can’t guarantee that it will work on your console.

The contest will end on May 18th 11:59PM EST.

Kraven Manor is a first-person indie survival horror game with elements of puzzle-solving and exploration. The player faces a persistent antagonist that grows in confidence and power as the game progresses. The player must find miniature models of rooms that they can use to build onto an increasingly complicated model of the manor in the main entryway. As they add model rooms onto the model puzzle, the manor's rooms shift around to match the player-made layout of the manor.

Game is amazingly detailed (for beta release is unbeliveably done), atmospheric and what's most important - different from other horror games. It's immersive, unique, intriguing and varied. And is realy scary. It was great pleasure to play this game. I love the whole concept of the game/puzzles stuff. I always keep a good ear for music & sound effects and the music is just perfect. Grade A stuff.

You should give it try guys. Definitely worth of it!
